depicts the story of Dan's journey into the
wonderful world of horses.

Australia.... My "Sunny" is an un-raced
Thoroughbred. I have had him for six years, and
we have had our share of history and monsters. I
have tried a number of methods, from classical
dressage to a certain round yard method, but I
found these either took away my control, or we
did not make any progress as I HAD NO RESPECT
FROM HIM! I was expected to start out "in his
space", on his territory, and THEN ask him to
respect and submit to me.
I have had so many people tell me that he is a
rogue, and not a suitable horse. These people
who say this to me are the same people who would
barge into his stall or paddock and would
threaten to go into the paddock with a lunge
whip and TEACH HIM A LESSON!
Dan, since reading your book, I have not only
made so much progress with him, but EVERY OTHER

finally getting respect from my Thoroughbred; he
waits and asks, when before he would have just
done whatever HE wanted to do. He is so much
softer and is offering me things, such as a
canter on the lunge line, when before we would

old colt. Buddy and I had some real fights, and
most of the time HE won. A few times a year, he
would buck me off, but we did make a bit of
progress each year. I tried going to clinics,
buying tapes, but nothing seemed to be the
